If you’re looking for a
place to immerse yourself in the Victorian era, Eureka Springs
Arkansas Bed and Breakfast
just might be the right place for you.
Once in town stepping back in time is
quite easy. Horse-drawn carriage rides go up and down Eureka
Springs’ famed boulevard with its stately homes. An oil burning
train leaves the Eureka Springs depot and winds its way through the
Ozark Mountains.
Back in town, a first stop for the
traveler might be the Eureka Springs Historical Museum, which was
built in 1889 and turned into a museum in 1971. Walking tours are
another way to get a good feel fro the town. Maps and brochures are
available at the Chamber of Commerce, which is located on the east
side of town at Pine Mountain Village. For water sport enthusiasts,
Eureka Springs is surrounded by lakes, prime for fishing and
boating. Or for the more adventurous, rent a canoe and paddle down
the White River.
Rounding out a trip to Eureka Springs
would be a stay at one of the town’s many bed and breakfasts. Here
are several inns that offer top of the line accommodations.
5 Ojo Inn B&B
Guests at 5 Ojo choose between lodging in cottages or in one of the
two restored Victorian homes, the Ojo House and the Sweet House.
Each room is decorated with antiques, but include modern amenities
such as refrigerators, coffee makers and a complimentary basket of
snacks. Nine rooms include whirlpool tubs and seven offer
fireplaces. Honeymooners often select the Carriage House Cottage or
the Anniversary Suite. The Anniversary Suite includes a sunken
Jacuzzi and private porch with a swing. Three-course gourmet
breakfasts are served in the Sweet House’s dining room, but private
dining can be arranged.
